Dental Health

LCHC currently offers a full range of general dentistry services including diagnostic and preventive services such as exams, cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants and x-rays. Restorative services include composite resin fillings, amalgam fillings and crowns. The clinic also performs simple extractions as well as offering root canal therapy. For replacing missing teeth, fixed bridges are offered, as well as removable full and partial dentures. Periodontal procedures are limited to scaling and root planing.

Dental services have been expanded to include our new Wellness Center located at 3750 W Ogden Avenue - 3rd Floor. Dental and dental hygiene services are provided for about 8,000 patient visits per year.

Oral Health for Children

Childhood cavities are a chronic disease. They affect the well-being of children and their overall health. They also cause many missed days of school and lower the affected child’s quality of life. At LCHC, we strive to educate our patients, community and families about caring for their children’s teeth. Here are a few important tips to know about preventing cavities in children.

• Tooth decay starts when bacteria (tooth bugs) on your teeth eat sugars from your diet causing your teeth to break down.
• Brushing and flossing twice a day is essential to eliminate the bacteria
• A well-balanced diet and reduction of snacking and drinking sugar drinks throughout the day reduces the sugars these bacterias eat and thrive off of
• Your child should see the dentist before the age of 1 and every 6 month after to greatly reduce the chance of cavities
