Behavioral Health & Pastoral
Care
The mission of the Clinical Pastoral Care Team is to assist our patients and staff in the following areas:
- Health-Related Behavior Change
- Emotional & Relational Health
- Spiritual Development
Our Primay Care Psychologists and Pastoral Care Workers work together in their efforts to serve our patients’ needs as determined by them and their physicians. Our goal is to care for patients and LCHC staff by providing avenues where God’s Spirit can bring the peace of Jesus Christ.
Behavioral Health Consultation
Our Primary Care Psychology Consultation services provide brief, immediate support to LCHC physicians and their patients in areas such as mental health concerns, coping with chronic illness & life problems, and behavior change assistance in a variety of areas like weight loss, medication compliance, and lifestyle change. Our consultants are trained in a unique model that allows them to work right alongside our physicians to provide comprehensive and often same-day service. Our consultants are available to any existing LCHC patients through our main appointment line, 773-843-3001. If a community member wishes to use our behavioral health services we ask that they first see a physician as the design of the service is to work with LCHC patients and their physicians.
Pastoral Care Services
Our pastoral care services provide social and emotional support for LCHC patients who are facing life crises, social isolation, joblessness, family conflict, housing issues and other life challenges. Our Pastoral Care Workers are supervised and trained by our Behavioral Health Consultants to ensure quality, appropriate care. Pastoral Care Workers are available to LCHC patients who simply ask their doctor for pastoral care support.
Intership Opportunities
LCHC also provides year-long APA accredited internships for doctoral-level psychologist for training in primary care psychology. Interested applicants can apply through the Chicago Area Christian Training Consortium.
